This weekend brings the Celebration of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge in Dallas! After almost 5 years of construction, the entire weekend is filled with events surrounding the opening of the bridge, which is scheduled for March 29th.
The Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge is the first vehicular bridge designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava in the United States.
Calatrava, an internationally renowned designer, has 42 bridges across the globe including the Quarto Ponte Sul Canal Grande in Venice and Ciudad de Las Artes and de Las Ciencias in Valencia (shown below)
The city is buzzing with excitement surrounding this new Dallas landmark! While this has nothing to do with tile, Horizon’s showroom in the Dallas Design District is so close in proximity to the bridge, we can’t help but be caught up in the fun. Does it count if the steel for this amazing structure was fabricated in Italy?
Have a wonderful weekend!
